STEWARDSHIP – "God’s Heart, Our Hands"
We are all called to serve humankind with Christ as our model. All members of our school community are encouraged to live as Jesus taught us to live and accept the responsibility for serving all people by sharing the gifts and talents received from God.
Stewardship is a key component to our religion program. Families, students, and staff are encouraged to participate in stewardship projects. Projects are planned to be age and grade level appropriate. They may be school wide, by grade level or by an individual classroom.
Hands on projects are encouraged. We seek ways that we can serve our school and parish as well as the community and world we live in. Efforts are made to find ways that the school can participate in stewardship projects sponsored by the Parish Outreach Committee and our "Twinning" with St. Joseph Catholic School in Baytown. Information on school wide stewardship projects and monthly Blue Jean Days will be sent to school families through the Weekly Newsletter and Edline©.
Quarterly school wide stewardship projects will be planned and conducted through the office of the religion coordinator. Monthly Blue Jean Days will be conducted to raise money for various causes in the local and area community. Middle School grades participate in an off campus Day of Service in December. Each grade level participates in an outreach project that brings them into direct contact with members of the various ministries of our parish. Inviting ministry representatives to speak to classes about their role in the parish is highly encouraged. Administration, the Religion Coordinator and the Pastor have approved the following stewardship projects.

Part of our Baptismal commitment, and our Christian identity, is to serve others. To help our students experience the grace and joy of giving, to remind them that their mission is to serve, and to encourage them to respond to Christ’s call to serve, we have incorporated a service requirement into religion class in the Middle School.
The service hour requirements, by grade, are: 6th grade, 10 hours; 7th grade, 12 hours; 8th grade, 14 hours. Students complete their service hours through the school year. They are given a log book in which they record the date, service performed, the number of hours, and signature of the supervisor. The completed log is turned in to the religion teacher in early May, and is a major religion grade for the fourth quarter.
Staff members have an opportunity to fulfill their Baptismal commitment by serving others. Each year staff members both, paraprofessional and professional, will be sent out into the Catholic school community to our "Twin" school, St. Joseph, to serve as volunteers for a day. Staff members will be asked to share a brief summary of their volunteer experience when they return.
