The St. Anthony of Padua Difference
The elementary program fosters a life-long love for learning in our students. Classroom instruction pulls together the best from many methods and programs to address learning styles as well as the gifts and talents of our students. The reading program includes an integrated approach of instruction in reading, spelling, grammar, writing, and vocabulary. Literature and novel units are used to enrich the curriculum. Teachers promote higher-level thinking skills, the use of technology as a learning tool and character development.
Hands-on activities, cooperative learning, and units of study are common in our classrooms. Our goal for the elementary program is to prepare students for a positive experience when they enter the middle school program.
Elementary classrooms are designed to provide a stimulating atmosphere of discovery, exploration and creativity. Activities beyond the classroom such as field trips, Halloween Science Day, Go Texan Day, Earth Day, Fun-in-the-Sun Day, academic competitions along with Christmas and spring musical performances provide a well-rounded experience for our students.
