Sacramental Preparation Requirements

 

To All Grade 2 Parents and Parents of Children Grades 3-6 of children who are baptized in the Roman Catholic faith

 and have NOT received the Sacraments of

Reconciliation (Confession)

 and/or

 Eucharist (First Communion)

 

Please plan to attend the Sacramental Preparation

Parent Information and Registration Meeting on:

 

Sunday, September 10

2:00 – 3:00 p.m.

 

or

 

Tuesday, September 12

7:00 – 8:30 p.m.

Text Box: In order to register in the Sacramental Preparation Program, you must bring a copy of your child’s Baptismal Certificate with you to the Registration/Information Meeting.  Your child cannot be enrolled in the program unless a Baptismal Certificate is presented at registration.

Information regarding dates and times for Registration,

Family Sessions, and Celebrations will be announced regularly

 

 The Sacramental Preparation Program requires:

 

§        Child’s Regular Attendance at weekly Faith Formation classes or Catholic School religion classes.

§        Attendance at the Parent Information Meeting in the Fall of 2006

§        6 months of home study (2 books issued at Family Sessions)

§        Attendance at 6 Sunday Afternoon Family Sessions (includes Classroom Study for the children and informational and challenging speakers for the parents)

§        Activities designed to enhance the understanding of the Sacraments

§        Interviews to assess child’s readiness for the Sacraments

 

Registration for the Sacramental Preparation program will include:

 

§        A copy of your child’s Baptismal Certificate, which must be presented at the time of Registration

§        A $40.00 Book/Supply Fee

§        Completion of the Parish Sacramental Preparation Registration Form

 

St. Anthony of Padua Sacramental Preparation for Reconciliation and Eucharist will instill in each child:

 

§        A trust on God’s forgiving love

§        A sense of belonging to the St. Anthony Church community

§        An awareness of God’s gift of Grace

§        A desire to receive the Eucharist

§        An understanding of the Eucharist as the True Presence of the Body and Blood of Christ
