Sacramental Preparation
The Sacramental
Preparation program at St. Anthony of Padua is an exciting year
of Parish and Family Based preparation for your child’s
reception of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist.
The parents and
child are invited to experience the gifts of joy, peace and
forgiveness in the Sacrament of Reconciliation and God’s
greatest gift – Jesus Christ – in the Sacrament of Eucharist
through home-based study and Sacramental Preparation Family
Sessions, which are scheduled throughout the school year.
Parents take an
active role in preparing their children for the Sacraments
through home-based studies provided by the Sadlier Sacrament
Program. The family will also participate in six required
Family Sessions, which includes class instruction for the
students while parents are participating in interesting
educational speakers whose topics are geared toward the
sacraments. Also, the parents and children enjoy special Prayer
Services and Sacramental activities.
The Sacramental
Preparation program is provided for all students in Grades 2-9
who need to prepare for First Reconciliation and First
Eucharist. The students must be registered members of St.
Anthony’s and enrolled in the Faith Formation program (or
attending Catholic School).
Due to the size of
our Parish community, St. Anthony of Padua offers each family
the option of participating in a group celebration or an
individual Mass celebration for First Communion.
