  2. MULTIPLE WEDDINGS: Three (3) celebrations each Saturday could be scheduled. Strict consideration of the time allowed is expected.

  3. TIME ALLOWED: The Wedding party has the use of the Church and areas for dressing for no more than one (l) hour before the wedding and twenty (20) minutes after the wedding ceremony concludes.

  4. ATTENDANTS: Bridesmaids and groomsmen should be kept within a reasonable number, between one (1) and seven (7). Children in the wedding party should be of an appropriate age, seven (7).

  5. ATTIRE: No clothing may be delivered directly to the Church or church offices. Dress should be appropriate for Church.

  6. GUEST REGISTER: A guest register may be placed in the gathering space. The bridal party should designate an attendant for this registry. Directions or a map to the reception hall should also be made available to the guests.

  7. RECEIVING LINES: No receiving lines are held at the Church.

  8. NO SMOKING, FOOD OR DRINK: (except bottled water) is allowed in the Church.

  9. RICE, BIRDSEED, CONFETTI, FLOWER PETALS, etc., MAY NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES BE THROWN ON THE CHURCH GROUNDS OR INSIDE THE CHURCH BUILDING.

  10. WEDDING REHEARSAL: The time allotted for rehearsal is one (l) hour. Since multiple rehearsals are often scheduled for the same day, and since the Priest or Deacon has other scheduled commitments, rehearsals MUST start on time. All members of the wedding party, including attendants, ushers, parents, readers, etc., should be at the rehearsal.

Rehearsal times are 6:00pm, 7:00pm and 8:00pm. Attendees need to be aware of travel time especially if coming to Church down I-45.

  11. WEDDING CEREMONY: The wedding ceremony must begin at the time scheduled. Since multiple weddings are often scheduled, strict adherence to the time allowed is expected. Florists and photographers MUST adhere to the policies of the parish.

  12. SPECIAL ASSISTANCE: Wedding coordinators from the parish volunteer to be present at your wedding and assist you. Please designate a family member or friend to care for your personal items for security and safety. This includes clothing from dressing areas, flowers and décor. All personal belongings must be removed from the dressing areas prior to the start of the wedding.

  13. MARRIAGE LICENSE: A Civil Marriage License must be presented to the Priest or Deacon before the wedding rehearsal date. The license must be obtained no longer than thirty (30) days and no less than seven (7) days before the wedding. Any county courthouse in Texas will provide information regarding current legal requirements and the necessary fees. The civil marriage license should be dropped off to the Church receptionist no later than seven (7) days prior to the wedding. It is strongly recommended to turn in the marriage license as soon as possible.

  14. OUTSIDE WEDDING COORDINATORS: Only St. Anthony of Padua Wedding Coordinators are allowed to assist you. Outside wedding coordinators are not allowed.

  15. VISITING CLERGY: Any validly-ordained Roman Catholic Bishop, Priest or Deacon, in good standing with the Church, is welcomed to witness or participate in your wedding ceremony. The parish clergy are not in any way offended if you invite another priest or deacon to preside at your wedding. At St. Anthony of Padua, we frequently welcome other clergy from all over the world for weddings and other special events. We will do all in our power to assist them in making your wedding the wonderful celebration it deserves to be.

If you will be inviting a Catholic clergyman from outside the Parish, the Pastor needs to be notified and you will need to coordinator of weddings as soon as possible. It is important that the Pastor have contact with the visiting Bishop, Priest or Deacon at the earliest opportunity.

If you are preparing for marriage with one of the Priests or Deacons at St. Anthony of Padua and he becomes ill or is transferred, the parish will insure that another clergyman will take his place and help you to celebrate your wedding.

Ministers of other denominations are also invited to participate in wedding celebrations, especially if the bride or groom is from a different denomination or religious background. Inform the clergyman about this possibility and the necessary procedures as soon as possible.

If, at any point in the marriage preparation process, either the bride or the groom changes his/her personal, cell or business phone numbers or address, please let the parish office know immediately! We will be phoning you with important questions during the marriage preparation process.

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE BE ABLE TO REACH YOU.
