Photography at the Wedding Ceremony
Photographs
provide lasting memories of the wedding ceremony. The taking of
these photographs, however, must never distract the bride, groom
and their guests at the wedding from the prayerful dignity of
the liturgy of Christian Marriage.
Careful observance of the following policies is expected.
Policies For the Wedding Photographer:
1. The Church is available for photography no earlier than ONE
(l) HOUR before the wedding. Pictures of the Ushers must be
completed 15 MINUTES before the wedding so as not to interfere
with their duties of ushering guests.
2. Setup of photographic equipment must be completed 10
MINUTES before the wedding begins. WEDDING CEREMONY MUST START
ON TIME.
3. The photographer is not allowed in the SANCTUARY (altar
area) for the taking of pictures or videos during the ceremony.
4. NO FLASH photography is allowed DURING THE CEREMONY.
5. Picture taking after the ceremony is limited to 20 MINUTES
immediately following the wedding.
6. A still-photographer is allowed to move as long as he/she
remains out of view of the congregation.
7. Photos may be taken in the Bride’s dressing area, but care
should be given to furniture and tables.
POLICIES FOR WEDDING VIDEOS:
1. Video equipment may be set up in the church no earlier than
ONE (l) HOUR before the wedding.
2. A MAP (on the reverse side of the WELCOME page) of the
inside of the Church is provided with the area marked where
VCR’s are permitted. VCR’s are to remain stationary.
3. Neither professional nor guest video people are allowed in
the sanctuary during any part of the wedding ceremony.
4. Persons making videos using cordless microphones must check
with the Facilities Manager to insure there are no conflicts
with the parish cordless microphones.
5. Bright lights on video cameras are not allowed.
PLEASE GIVE A COPY OF THESE POLICIES TO YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER/VIDEOGRAPHER.
