Parish Services and Use of Facilities
The Wedding Coordinator is a volunteer from the St. Anthony of
Padua Catholic Community. The ministry’s major functions are
assistance at the wedding ceremony and hospitality. The
volunteer will help arrange the worship space for the service
requested and assist both at the rehearsal and at the ceremony.
A volunteer wedding coordinator will be assigned for you and be
present at your rehearsal and at the wedding ceremony.
Professional wedding coordinators may NOT be used at St. Anthony
of Padua Catholic Community.
Pastoral Associate
The Pastoral Associate is a parish staff member who will assist
you in the planning of the wedding ceremony. She will assist you
in choosing the prayers, blessings and readings. Contact the
Parish Office at 281-419-8700 or email
Julie Korniewicz to assist you in choices of music and
environment.
Use of Church Facilities
There is no charge for the Sacraments in the Catholic Church or
for the use of the church. Our parish incurs expenses such as
heating/air conditioning, maintenance and clean up for weddings.
To help defray these expenses, you are asked to make a donation
to the church. Presently, the requested donation is $400.00.
Please make the check payable to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic
Church.
Facilities available for use:
1. Church for the time scheduled.
2. Parlor for Bride and attendants (see Policies for Use).
3. Cry Room and Groom and attendants (see Policies for Use).
If, at any point in the marriage preparation process, either
the bride or the groom changes his/her personal, cell or
business phone number or address, please let the parish office
know immediately! We will be phoning you with important
questions during the marriage preparation process.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE BE ABLE TO REACH YOU!
Use of the Parlor and the Cry Room
THE PARLOR
The community invites the Bride and her attendants to use the
parlor and/or classroom 105 and adjacent restroom for dressing.
The following policies are to be observed.
1. The Parlor is available for the Bride and attendants one (l)
hour before the wedding. Because this room has limited space, a
classroom in the adjoining building can be provided, if needed.
2. NO SMOKING in this area or any area of the complex.
3. NO FOOD OR DRINK (except bottled water) in this area or any
area of the complex.
4. Wedding parties must remove all personal belongings from the
parlor area prior to the start of the wedding ceremony. Due to
multiple weddings on Saturdays, another wedding party could be
using the parlor immediately after you. This is a safety issue
as well as a courtesy.
5. The wedding party should assign a relative or friend to be
responsible for cleanup of personal belongings.
6. Please leave the parlor neat and clean.
Flowers, Candles, Decor at the Wedding Ceremony
The church building of St.
Anthony of Padua Catholic Community is a sacred place where we
gather, we pray, and we celebrate. The architectural beauty of
our church and the furnishings of the celebrations of liturgy
are designed to express a sense of unity and “noble simplicity”.
Decorations used at weddings should be appropriate to the space
and a quality that reflects the dignity of Christian Marriage.
The following policies are provided in order that the beauty of
the church be respected and maintained.
POLICIES:
1. No decorations are required. The natural beauty of the church
and its décor already enhance the dignity of the wedding
ceremony.
2. Décor for weekend Masses including special seasonal décor
(Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter) may not be changed or moved.
During these times, additional décor should be appropriate to
the season. Please consult with the Pastoral Associate for this
information.
3. All existing plants, flowers and pedestals in the church
building are to be left in place unless specific permission has
been given to remove them. Contact the Pastoral Associate for
permission. If moved, return all items to their original place
after the ceremony.
4. If flowers or plants are to be left in the Church after the
wedding ceremony, please inform the Pastoral Associate.
5. FLOWERS: One (l) or two (2) arrangements may be used in the
sanctuary space (altar area). Sanctuary flowers should be large
enough to be visible but never obstruct the action of the
liturgy. Flower arrangements may be used at the back of the
pews. See the MAP, on the reverse side of the WELCOME page, for
placement of arrangements.
6. POTTED PLANTS: Plants used must have waterproof pot covers or
placed in saucers to protect the carpeting. Suggestion: Use
potted plants instead of flowers and then use the potted pants
in the couple’s first home.
7. PEW DECORATIONS: Pews must not be scratched. Uses of plastic
clips, tape, velcro, staples, clamps, floral pins, etc., are not
allowed. Bows, greenery or floral sprays may be used only if
attached with a ribbon loop.
8. FLOWER PETALS: Flower petals (real or artificial) may not be
thrown or dropped down in the aisles. Rice, birdseed, confetti,
flower petals, etc., may not under any circumstances be thrown
on the church grounds.
9. RUNNERS: Runners are not allowed.
10. CANDLES: Existing sanctuary candles are used in the wedding
ceremony. Candelabrum may be used. Florist must provide adequate
plastic floor covering under the candelabrum to protect the
carpeting, tile, etc. Candelabrum must be non-drip. See MAP, on
the reverse side of the WELCOME page, for placement of
candelabrum. Aisle candles may not be used.
11. UNITY CANDLE: The unity candle stand is furnished by the
Church but you will need to furnish the candle (dripless).
12. The Church is available for floral setup no earlier than one
(l) hour before the wedding. Florist, please respect this
schedule
13. Florists are responsible to reclaim any pedestals, etc.,
they provide, immediately after the ceremony. The church should
be left in the same order it was found. Florists are also
responsible to clean up any left over pedals, twigs, etc.
PLEASE GIVE A COPY OF THESE POLICIES TO YOUR FLORIST.
