Perpetual Adoration

Adoration is a quiet time spent in prayer before Jesus present in the Eucharist. A consecrated Host is placed in the center of a sacred vessel called a Monstrance. The word Monstrance means, “to show.” The Monstrance is then set in a very special place for all to see and worship Jesus present body, blood, soul and divinity in the consecrated Host or “Blessed Sacrament.”

“Perpetual” is an ongoing event. It is permanent. It is continuous prayer before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. It is our expression of our love for Jesus 24/7. Perpetual Adoration is the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in the Monstrance twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

Members of the parish called “Adorers” commit to an hour (or hours of prayer) to adore the Blessed Sacrament. The adorer can pray, meditate, read Scripture or simply sit in the presence of Jesus Christ.

Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is simply making Jesus the “center” of our life. Perpetual Adoration wins many graces for the individual, the family, the parish, the archdiocese, the universal Church and the world. Anyone who makes the sacrifice to participate in this sacred devotion will be blessed a hundredfold. He or she will come to a deeper understanding of the Eucharistic presence and be drawn closer to a spiritual relationship with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. He waits for us in this sacrament of love where He appeals to each one of us: “Could you not watch one hour with me?” (Matthew 26:40)

But, isn’t it dangerous to go around the clock, 24 hours a day?

Pope John Paul II has said that all the evils of the world could be overcome through the great power of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration. The devil is put to flight wherever Jesus is adored in the most Blessed Sacrament. Believe that Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament is the Lord who cast out demons, calmed the sea and is infinitely more powerful than any law enforcement agency on this earth. “Do not be afraid; just have faith.” (Mark 5:36)

Will you say, “Yes!” to a weekly visit with our Lord,
exposed in the monstrance?

St. Anthony of Padua
Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration

Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration is a dedication to spending time with Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament on a continuous basis. We have over 325 families and individuals that have signed up for individual hours that they commit to on a weekly basis. These Adorers are responsible for their hour. If they can't make their hour they verify that others signed up for that hour will be there or find a substitute. We have a good substitute list of over 40 people to help with substitutions. Adoration currently runs from Sunday 7PM to Saturday 9AM. If we get sufficient people to commit to weekend hours we will then have it truly perpetual. Visitors are welcome from 8:30AM to 10PM on weekdays. All other times requires a key code to access the Chapel for security purposes. The schedule below shows the hours of Adoration. Hours shaded in yellow are in need of additional Adorers. The Adoration Chapel is on the front of the church just to the left next to the office. If you are interested in signing up for an hour or want more information, please contact Kelly Mortensen @ 281-298-6521 or krmortensen@comcast.net
